Mr Maurizio Persico

Mr. Persico is a specialist Cosmetic Surgeon known worldwide as a leader in the field of plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC) and meets the requirements of the Healthcare Commission for practising in the UK. He also holds the qualification, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) or the equivalent qualification from a European or Commonwealth country. In the last five years, he has performed more than 2000 surgical procedures covering a wide range of treatments, such as breast surgery, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), blepharoplasty (eye lid treatment), nose reshaping (rhinoplasty) and liposuction (body reshaping and sculpting).

In 2007 he moved from his position of Cosmetic Surgeon at a leading clinic to become Clinical Director of The Cosmetic Clinic in Bridgewater Hospital Manchester, where he will continue to specialise in plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

Mr. Persico graduated from the University of Rome as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery in 1988 before progressing and graduating with a Postgraduate Specialist Diploma in Plastic Surgery. He went onto receive his Italian Medical Licence and started practising within private clinics across Rome. He proceeded to complete several courses on various modern operative techniques, surgical anatomy and breast reconstruction. For the last four years he has worked as a Plastic Surgeon Consultant within the Burns Injury Unit of Rome and has worked for the Italian NHS for nearly ten years.

Mr. Persico is a member of various affiliated societies and bodies worldwide and has conducted lectures to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. His dedication to his profession and patients is evident from his clinical experience and continued attendance at seminars and conferences.
